A memorable day in the Commune of Herk-de-Stad

Dear visitors, hello,

Let me share with you the great joy I felt on June 17, during a visit to the Commune of Herk-de-Stad and especially in the yard of a school which has been supporting us for quite a while.

The school staff had organized a little party so that the children could meet the Founder of the EDLR International Solidarity Chain.

I was so moved to see this group of young children who had taken so much trouble to raise money for the deprived children of Antananarivo that tears came to my eyes... An unforgettable memory!

It was really a memorable day...

It was impossible to communicate with the children except through an interpreter, but the warmth of the welcome I received, this love shared with the poorest of the poor did not need words to be understood...

Two other Dutch-speaking donors joined the party. A cheque for 4,000 Euros was offered by an association represented by a charming Dutch-speaking gentleman who spoke perfect French. The cheque for 5,777.80 Euros is several donations combined; we have already received a large part and the rest will follow… We have been really spoilt.

On behalf of the 100 children of the future ZAZAGASY Center and their families, we thank our generous donors who would recognize themselves.

Sponsors pay 55 Euros per year. Volunteers of the chain on location allocate to the children’s parents or guardians a monthly sum to pay their school fees.

Volunteers also monitor the children’s school attendance through strict verification of School Attendance Cards.
Cards are stamped every term by the management of schools.
On the first day of the school year, control is conducted by people in charge, based on the registration certificate issued by the school, which is also verified for authenticity.
