Godfathers and dear godmothers, for your information!

To be part of the Enfants de la Rue (EDLR) International Chain of Solidarity, the files on children and young people to be sponsored must be presented with:

• 1 residence certificate
• 1 copy of a birth certificate
• 1 school certificate (for the child’s educational level)
• 5 identity photos (2 for OSTIE, 2 for the payment card and 1 for the sponsorship sheet)
• Description of the family situation

It is clear that the chain is meant for families who are really in need. Thus, a visit is organized by us after receiving the file, in order to confirm the standard of living of the family concerned.

Maximum age of sponsored children : 18 ans

Sponsorship is 55€ through a bank and 57€ by paypal annually, , covering all or part of the child’s school fees. In the latter case, this would be a “grant”.

It’s in the parents’ interest to find a good quality school where fees do not exceed the amount of the sponsorship. In the case of state schools, primary (EPP), junior high (CEG) and senior high (LYCEE) the costs of school supplies, books, etc. may be covered.

One person from the family must present themselves every 1st Tuesday of the month, from 8 am, at the reception hall on the 1st floor of the Antananarivo I City Hall to receive the grants.

In exchange the family must present the School Attendance Card which must be stamped every term by a school official to prove the child has effectively attended.

Members of the chain may be required to visit the homes, schools or centers where the children are.

Twice a year, a school report card must be presented by the family and will be forwarded to the godfather or the godmother. Correspondence cards also help maintain the relationship
